Principal Architect London / WFH to £130k
Do you have an indepth knowledge of secure system development?
You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on role at a successful and expanding Cyber Security software house that provide encryption and information security products to a range of finance, government, defence, law enforcement and pharmaceutical companies.
As a Principal Architect in a senior individual contributor role within a secure technology environment, you'll help shape the architecture of hardened Linux endpoints and Cross Domain solutions.
You'll work closely with the CTO, engineering, product, security and customer facing teams, providing technical leadership across multiple product lines. There's no large team to manage; instead, you'll influence through technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to make complex decisions.
Your role:
- Define the architecture and technical direction for new products and major initiatives
- Make complex architectural decisions and navigate technical trade-offs
- Embed security, assurance and maintainability into product design
- Provide architectural input into complex customer deployments and integrations
- Identify opportunities for shared platforms, services and tooling
- Act as a technical escalation point for challenging engineering and customer issues
- Develop architectural capability across the senior engineering community
- Be hands-on with complex systems, investigating problems and working alongside engineers to find the right solution
Location / WFH:
You'll join colleagues in the Central London office twice a week, with flexibility to work from home the other days.
About you:
- You'll have experience as a Principal, Staff Engineer, Lead Architect or equivalent level within a technically complex environment, with deep expertise in systems and security
- You have experience across several of the following: Linux, operating systems and systems engineering, security architecture, threat modelling and secure-by-design, Networking e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, TLS and VPNs, PKI, certificates, authentication and identity, Enterprise Microsoft and / or Linux environments, virtualisation, isolation and separation technologies, architecture across multiple teams or products
- You're collaborative with strong technical communication with engineers, customers and senior stakeholders
- Above all, you'll bring strong architectural judgement and are comfortable making decisions where there isn't an obvious answer - balancing security, engineering effort, customer requirements and long-term product strategy
- You are a UK citizen and able to achieve SC / DV Security Clearance
