About the role

We are looking for a creative and experienced Fashion Designer to join our team and contribute to the development of our clothing and fashion collections. The successful candidate will be involved in the design process from initial research and concepts through to product development and final designs.

Key responsibilities

• Research current and emerging fashion trends, colours, fabrics, materials and consumer preferences.

• Develop original concepts and designs for clothing and fashion products.

• Produce design sketches, illustrations and technical drawings.

• Select appropriate fabrics, materials, trims and accessories for designs.

• Develop design specifications and communicate requirements clearly to suppliers and manufacturers.

• Work with suppliers and manufacturers during the sampling and product-development process.

• Review samples and recommend changes to fit, construction, materials, colour and overall appearance.

• Refine designs in response to sampling, production requirements and customer or market feedback.

• Maintain accurate records of designs, specifications, materials and product information.

• Work collaboratively with the wider team to develop collections in line with the company's creative and commercial objectives.

• Monitor developments in the fashion industry and use relevant research to inform future collections.

• Help maintain consistent design standards and quality across the company's fashion products.

Requirements

• Previous professional experience in fashion or clothing design.

• Good knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and fashion production processes.

• Experience developing designs from initial concepts through to finished products.

• Ability to produce clear fashion sketches and technical design information.

• Strong understanding of colour, materials, proportions and garment details.

• Good attention to detail and ability to manage several design projects and deadlines.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A creative and commercially aware approach to fashion design.
