We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in East London. This role involves working full-time with children who have challenging behaviours and other special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of students requiring additional support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, focusing on individual learning needs and behavioural management.
- Work closely with the lead teacher to implement educational plans and activities that cater to the specific needs of each child.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- Facilitate social interaction and participation in class activities among students.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help further support the students' educational journeys.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and other SEND needs.
- Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to student interaction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff.
- A proactive and dedicated approach to supporting children's educational and personal development.
