Location: Hackney, London

Pay: £100 - £117 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm)

Start Date: October 2026

We are currently recruiting for a friendly, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Hackney, London, from October.

This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to work within Key Stage 1, supporting the class teacher and pupils across the school day.

You will be working as part of the classroom team, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment and providing support to children with their learning, development and day-to-day classroom activities.

The school is a welcoming and supportive primary school with a fantastic team of staff who work closely together to ensure every child receives the best possible support and opportunities to thrive.

The Role

• Supporting the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
• Working with children across Key Stage 1 and supporting their learning and development.
• Providing individual and small-group support where required.
• Helping children to engage with classroom activities and develop confidence and independence.
• Supporting pupils with their reading, writing, phonics, numeracy and general learning.
• Helping to maintain a positive, calm and engaging classroom environment.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging a love of learning.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a primary school is desirable.
• Experience working with Key Stage 1 children would be beneficial.
• A warm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, committed and hardworking.
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a classroom team and is happy to get involved.
