Senior Conference Producer

Our client is a leading global insurance community and intelligence platform bringing together insurers, brokers, MGAs, technology and data providers, professional services firms and other industry leaders.

They build communities around the issues shaping insurance and bring them together through conferences, smaller events, advisory groups, research conversations, webinars and content. Their aim is not simply to run events, but to create valuable market conversations, relationships and insight that strengthen the wider Insurance and Tech community.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Conference Producer to play a leading role in building our client's market communities and producing conferences, events and content that bring those communities together.

Reporting to the Executive Principal, this person will work within an agreed strategy and take senior responsibility for turning priority market themes into compelling programmes, strong industry networks and sustained engagement with senior market participants. This is a senior, hands-on role and is broader than traditional conference production.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will: lead market and audience research;
• build relationships and communities around priority themes;
• develop high-quality programmes;
• secure and manage senior speakers and advisers;
• work actively across sales, marketing and events;
• contribute to commercial performance;
• and represent the business externally through research conversations, hosting and moderation.

Overall strategy will be set with the Executive Principal. The Senior Conference Producer will be expected to operate with significant autonomy in executing that strategy, bring informed recommendations and exercise strong editorial and commercial judgement.

Qualifications

About you

You will be an experienced B2B conference producer who combines intellectual curiosity, strong editorial judgement and commercial awareness.

You should be comfortable getting underneath complex subjects, speaking to senior market participants and identifying the conversations that genuinely matter.

Required Skills

• Essential experience 3-5 years' experience, or equivalent, in B2B conference production
• Strong experience researching complex markets and translating that research into compelling programmes.
• Comfortable working in a very small and dynamic team, and willing to take on or participate in tasks outside of this role, when required.
• A track record of securing and managing senior-level speakers and stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building and networking capability.
• Experience working collaboratively across sales, marketing and event-delivery teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong editorial judgement.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of sponsorship, delegate acquisition and event economics.
• Excellent project-management and organisational skills.
• Confidence working autonomously and managing several programmes and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Confidence hosting, interviewing or moderating, or the ability and appetite to develop this capability.
• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required for events.
