Are you an experienced fire safety professional looking for an opportunity to influence safety standards across a large and diverse residential property portfolio?
We are seeking a Fire Safety Officer to join our specialist Fire Safety Team, providing technical expertise, assurance and compliance oversight across residential housing assets throughout the UK.
This is a varied role combining site inspections, stakeholder engagement and fire safety assurance activities. You'll play a key part in ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation while helping protect residents, colleagues and property assets.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting fire safety inspections across residential properties and communal areas.
- Monitoring and assuring compliance with fire safety legislation and internal standards.
- Reviewing fire risk assessments and supporting the management of remedial actions.
- Liaising with housing teams, caretaking teams, contractors, local authorities and Fire & Rescue Services.
- Supporting quality assurance activities relating to fire safety projects and compliance programmes.
- Providing technical fire safety advice and guidance to operational teams.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of fire safety processes and standards.
- Supporting Building Safety and Fire Safety governance across the portfolio.
About you
We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including housing, facilities management, construction, building safety, compliance, fire risk assessment and Fire & Rescue Services.
However, applicants must be able to demonstrate strong technical fire safety knowledge and experience within a fire safety, compliance, inspection or assurance-based role.
You'll ideally possess:
- Fire Safety Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or similar qualification.
- Knowledge of the Fire Safety Act, Building Safety Act and wider fire safety legislation.
- Experience undertaking inspections, audits or fire safety assurance activities.
- Understanding of residential buildings, social housing, facilities or property environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to transport.
