Interim Senior Programmes Manager

£24.72 per hour 3-month interim Part-time, 4 days per week Hybrid London Immediate Availability Required

We're partnering with a leading UK charity to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Programmes Manager for an immediate start.

This is a part-time, three-month interim opportunity for an experienced programme leader who can hit the ground running, provide stability and maintain momentum across a busy portfolio of regional programmes and volunteer activity.

You must be immediately available to start.

The opportunity

You'll provide hands-on leadership across regional programmes and volunteer activity, managing a small team, maintaining key external partnerships and ensuring programme delivery remains on track.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing day-to-day leadership and line management to the Programmes team

• Overseeing regional programmes, projects and pilots

• Managing relationships with external partners and regional stakeholders

• Coordinating activity across internal teams and external agencies

• Providing strategic and operational oversight of the volunteer programme

• Managing project plans, timelines, budgets, risks and deliverables

• Identifying and escalating risks and issues

• Supporting programme development and longer-term delivery planning

• Onboarding an external agency to advise on the future regional delivery model

• Providing regular progress updates to senior leadership

About you

We're looking for an experienced programme or project manager who is confident stepping into a senior interim role and making an immediate impact.

You'll bring:

• Significant programme or project management experience, ideally within the charity, public or health sector

• Previous line management experience

• Strong stakeholder and partnership management skills

• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities

• Experience in strategic programme design and implementation

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Strong risk management and reporting experience

• The ability to build trusted relationships quickly

• Regional, community or place-based programme experience is desirable

• Volunteer management experience is advantageous
