Music Teacher - Performance

Join our team at a vibrant educational institution in East London as a Music Teacher, focusing on performance. This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing UAL units within the music curriculum and providing comprehensive tutorial support to learners.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare and teach UAL Level 3 Music performance courses.
- Act as a personal tutor providing pastoral support to students.
- Plan course delivery in line with study programme requirements.
- Arrange, monitor, and supervise learners on study programmes, educational visits, and field trips.
- Plan and prepare for inspections, Moderator reports, and visits.
- Assess students through formative and summative assessments, internal verification, and supervision of assessments.
- Maintain records and perform statistical checks related to teaching and across courses.
- Act as the main point of reference for students in a particular year or course group, including participation in student induction, providing educational and welfare guidance, and preparing administrative returns and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant area of specialism - Music Performance.
- Proven ability to deliver consistently good or better teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Experience teaching the 16-19 age group.
- Excellent planning, organisation, IT, and administrative skills.
- Proficient in at least one musical instrument (including voice).
- Knowledge of music theory and experience in organizing music events.
- Professional experience and/or knowledge of the music industry.
- A well-developed understanding of the needs of the 16-19 age group and the challenges faced by inner-city students.
- An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.
