Founded in 2015, our client is an impactful charity that helps care-experienced young people to make a successful transition from the care system into their first homes, build solid foundations and thrive.
Working in partnership with local authorities, housing providers and other charities, they provide tailored, one to one coaching for young people, giving them the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancies, manage their finances and live independently. Over the last year, they have worked with more care-experienced young people than ever before. Last year, young people launched their campaign, A Home of Our Own, to call for system-wide change. As they continue to grow, the charity is now looking to recruit a Senior External Engagement Manager to join their supportive and growing team.
This is an exciting new role for the charity, working across the organisation to make sure external engagement and communications are aligned with the charity's strategy and contribute to their goals. As Senior External Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the charity's external engagement, communications and marketing strategy. You will lead campaigning and influencing work, ensuring that young people's voices and priorities are at the forefront.
You will be responsible for key communications moments, such as the charity's Annual Report and fundraising campaigns, and represent the charity externally to stakeholders and the medial. You will also oversee the Senior Comms Officer, and day-to-day digital and social media comms.
To excel in this role, you will bring a proven ability to develop and deliver communications or engagement strategies that support wider organisational goals. You will have experience of delivering and overseeing consistent, high-quality communications across multiple channels. You will have experience of building relationships with external stakeholders to change their policy or practice, including local or national government. A knowledge or understanding of the care system, youth homelessness or issues affecting care-experienced young people is desirable.
If you are interested in applying for this exciting position, please submit your CV in the first instance. Should your experience be suitable, we will send you the full job description and will arrange for a call to fully brief you on the role.
