About the role

Are you an experienced analyst who can turn complex data into clear, actionable insight?

MOPAC's Evidence & Insight is a dedicated in-house team of analysts and researchers who provide analysis and insight on crime, policing and criminal justice across London. We are looking for two Senior Performance Analysts to support MOPAC's oversight of the Metropolitan Police Service through high-quality performance analysis and reporting.

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will work with a range of large datasets to:

  • Identify patterns, trends and emerging issues, using a variety of statistical and analytic techniques.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear evidence for senior leaders and decision-makers.
  • Produce insightful reports, briefings and presentations to inform discussions on policing performance and oversight.
  • You will also lead the development of regular performance reporting products and interactive dashboards so stakeholders and Londoners alike have access to timely, accurate and meaningful information.

Required Skills & Experience

You will have:

  • Strong experience in quantitative analysis and working with large and/or complex datasets.
  • The ability to identify key insights from data and communicate them with impact to senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences. You will do this through reports, presentations and data visualisations.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI and experience in dashboard designing, data modelling, as well as programming in DAX and through Power Query.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work with colleagues and partners across policing and criminal justice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an analyst who enjoys combining technical expertise with critical thinking to deliver meaningful insight on policing and crime in London.

Application Process

Candidates must submit their CV and must answer (around 1,500 characters per answer) to the supplementary questions which are:

  • Describe a piece of analysis you have undertaken using a large or complex dataset. How did you identify the key insights, and how did those insights influence understanding, decisions or actions?
  • Tell us about a time when you had to communicate complex analytical findings to a senior or non-technical audience. How did you present the information, and what was the outcome?
  • Describe a Power BI report or dashboard you have developed. What business need did it address, what techniques did you use, and what impact did it have for users or decision-makers?
  • Describe a time when you worked with multiple stakeholders to deliver an analytical or performance reporting project. How did you manage differing requirements and ensure a high-quality outcome?
