REED FE are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic establishment in East London. This role involves supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), offering both one-to-one and small group support. This position requires a compassionate individual who can assist with behaviour management, learner engagement, and personal care as needed.

SEND Learning Support Assistant

• Contract: Term-time only, fixed-term until July 2026
• Hours: Part-time (3-5 days per week)
• Pay: £18 per hour
• Location: Multiple campuses

Day-to-day of the role SEND LSA role:

• Provide tailored support to learners with SEND, learning difficulties, and disabilities.
• Engage in one-to-one and small group learning support to enhance educational outcomes.
• Assist with behaviour management to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Support learners with personal care tasks where necessary.
• Accompany learners on educational visits and community-based activities to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
• Maintain accurate support records and provide essential feedback to teaching staff regarding learner progress and challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the SEND Learning Support Assistant role:

• Recent experience supporting learners with SEND in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and support for vulnerable learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
• IT skills sufficient to create educational resources and support learners.
• Willingness to undertake personal care and manual handling tasks as required.
