Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Barnet

Your new companyHays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a September 2026 start.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The school is seeking a caring and proactive professional who can provide academic and pastoral support to students, enabling them to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom.

Your new roleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide targeted support to students with a range of learning needs.You will support students in lessons, help to adapt learning activities where appropriate, and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

What you'll need to succeed

• Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
• Help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience
• Support pupils with SEND, including those with additional learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Contribute to the wider pastoral and academic support of students
