Salary: £29,890 - £34,834 per annum (0.8 FTE), dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours: 32 Hours Per Week

About the Role

Join our vibrant and ambitious school community as a Teacher of Geography (or Subject Leader of Geography) and make a lasting difference to the lives of young people. You will inspire students to develop a deep understanding of the world around them, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning. Through engaging and challenging lessons up to A Level, you will support pupils of all abilities to achieve their potential, build confidence and develop the knowledge and skills they need for future success.

Working within our successful Humanities Faculty, you will help create a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to think independently, embrace challenge and achieve academic excellence. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, enriching students' experiences through co-curricular activities and helping them grow into confident, compassionate and well-rounded individuals. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons up to A Level.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that challenge and support all learners.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, attainment and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high achievement.
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting students' academic, personal and social development.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support student success.
  • Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme, including clubs, trips and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities Faculty and wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development, appraisal and continuous improvement activities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, behaviour and student welfare.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Ability to teach Geography up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for student achievement.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people of all abilities.
  • Strong assessment and data analysis skills to support student progress.
  • Effective behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities.
