My client are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across various sites, ensuring that all work is completed to high health, safety, and quality standards within agreed timelines. This role is crucial for maintaining efficiency and compliance across all operational activities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage supervisors and teams across multiple sites, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure all operations comply with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, alongside client and company guidelines.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to fully understand the scope of works and ensure compliance.
- Conduct site surveys and oversee site work, supervising productivity and organising the workload, labour, plant, and materials.
- Manage work according to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Produce short-term programmes for projects and specific tasks, communicating any delays to clients promptly.
- Perform and record quality checks to maintain high standards of work.
- Recognise changes in contract scope, highlighting variations and addressing Requests for Information (RFIs) with clients.
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks, ensuring all team members are informed of current standards and procedures.
- Collate Daily Record Sheets and issue them to the office, review weekly returns, and assist with the tendering process.
- Monitor targets, costs, progress, and variations to ensure project profitability and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- SMSTS certification.
- NVQ Level 2 in Drilling & Sawing.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the industry.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Temporary Works Coordination (desirable but not essential).
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
