Working Hours: Monday to Friday, generally 8:00am 5:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Plumber Multi-Trader to join a busy repairs and maintenance team on a permanent basis.

This is a mobile, customer-facing position covering North London, including areas such as Hackney, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Barnet and Enfield.

You will be allocated a primary working area but may be required to work across the wider region to support service delivery.

The role involves carrying out a wide range of plumbing repairs and replacements, alongside associated multi-trade maintenance works within residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

As a Plumber Multi-Trader, your duties will include:

  • Carrying out general plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  • Repairing and replacing sinks, water tanks and bathroom fixtures.
  • Diagnosing plumbing faults and completing appropriate repairs.
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance within residents' homes.
  • Undertaking associated carpentry repairs.
  • Completing basic tiling works.
  • Carrying out painting and decorating repairs.
  • Undertaking minor patch plastering and finishing works.
  • Working across a varied range of residential properties.
  • Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Taking a right-first-time approach to minimise follow-on works.
  • Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional working environment.
  • Using effective communication skills when dealing with residents and colleagues.
  • Providing excellent customer service at every stage of the repair process.
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a plumber within a maintenance, housing or construction environment.
  • Strong practical plumbing knowledge and experience.
  • Experience carrying out plumbing repairs and replacements.
  • Experience working within residential properties or housing maintenance.
  • A relevant plumbing qualification, such as an NVQ, where applicable.
  • Good knowledge of general building maintenance.
  • Basic carpentry skills.
  • Basic tiling experience.
  • Basic painting and decorating skills.
  • Basic patch plastering experience.
  • A broad range of multi-trade skills.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A right-first-time approach to repairs.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • The flexibility to work across multiple locations.
  • A valid UK manual driving licence.
  • Own hand tools suitable for the role; larger or specialist equipment can be provided where required.
Customer Service

Customer satisfaction is a key part of this role.

You will be working directly in residents' homes and will therefore be expected to represent the organisation professionally at all times.

You should be confident communicating with residents, understanding their needs and delivering a high-quality service while completing repairs efficiently.

The focus will be on achieving a right-first-time service, reducing follow-on appointments and improving overall customer satisfaction.

Working Hours & Additional Opportunities

The standard working hours are:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm

There may also be opportunities to earn additional income through call-outs and out-of-hours work, where applicable.
