About the Role
We are working in partnership with a prestigious, values led organisation based in Central London to recruit an Estates & Facilities HSEQ Officer.
This is a newly created, high-impact role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) activity across a complex, multi-use estate. The position sits within an established in-house facilities team and plays a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting operations, and driving continuous improvement.
The role is fully site-based and would suit someone who enjoys being visible, operational, and closely involved with day-to-day estate activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems in line with legal requirements and ISO standards (ISO )
- Produce, review and manage risk assessments, method statements and COSHH documentation
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks
- Manage contractor H&S compliance, including permits to work and inductions
- Lead accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Coordinate HSEQ training and inductions using online learning platforms
- Act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits
- Compile HSEQ performance reports and metrics for senior management review
- Take ownership of waste management and environmental performance, supporting sustainability objectives
- Support accessibility and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives across the estate
- Provide HSEQ input into tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires
- Support the wider Estates & Facilities team as required
About You
We are looking for a confident and organised HSEQ or Health & Safety professional with experience working within facilities, estates or the built environment.
Essential experience:
- Health & Safety leadership within a facilities or estates environment
- Strong risk assessment, audit and compliance experience
- Working knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation
- Experience working with contractors and third-party suppliers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to advise at all levels
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO accreditation frameworks
- Environmental or sustainability exposure
- Experience in complex, heritage or multi-occupancy buildings
Qualifications (Desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Environmental or sustainability qualification
- First Aid and Fire Marshal training
- Working knowledge of ISO and 45001
Working Pattern
- Fully site-based role
- Evening and weekend work required on a rota basis(Time off in lieu or overtime provided)
