Director of Financial Services About Our Client

For over 70 years, we have been building and maintaining homes across London and southern England. Today, we provide homes for more than 70,000 customers and manage over 38,000 properties.

We are looking for a Director of Financial Services to play a pivotal role in the next phase of our transformation journey. Following a period of regulatory challenge, the organisation is focused on strengthening financial governance, risk management, data quality and operational excellence while delivering improved outcomes for residents.

This is a highly visible leadership role, requiring a strategic finance professional with deep housing sector expertise, strong business partnering capability and a proven track record of leading change.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic financial leadership by shaping the finance vision and roadmap, partnering with executive stakeholders and leading the budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Lead and embed a high-performing business partnering model, ensuring finance teams proactively support decision making and challenge assumptions, while improving performance. Oversee rent and service charge management, ensuring regulatory compliance, transparency and resident confidence, while balancing affordability with long-term financial sustainability. Strengthen governance, risk and finance operations by maintaining robust financial controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing financial risks, and leading a culture of continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and a track record of operating in senior finance leadership roles. Knowledge of the housing sector including strong knowledge of rent and service charge regulations, financial governance requirements and the regulatory environment for social housing. Demonstrated success leading finance transformation and business partnering with experience driving organisational change and improving financial performance within the organisation. Strong people leadership and strategic capabilities with the ability to lead teams through change, embrace innovation and influence stakeholders at executive, board and through-out the organisation.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from £135,000 to £145,000, dependent on the level of experience. Generous annual leave entitlement. Comprehensive pension scheme. Closing date 20th August 2026.
