Job Requirements/Description

We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Senior Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health service in Brent.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

In this role, you will manage a caseload of clients requiring mental health crisis de-escalation, early intervention, and preventative support, including complex and high-risk cases. You will undertake risk assessments, develop safety plans, and work closely with external agencies to ensure effective care coordination and positive outcomes. Acting as a senior point of support, you will guide Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers, volunteers, and students on placement, while leading shifts in the absence of the Service Manager. You will build strong partnerships with NHS and community services, deliver group programmes, contribute to service improvement initiatives, monitor quality standards, and support recruitment, training, and ongoing service development activities.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

You will need substantial experience supporting individuals with mental health difficulties, dual diagnosis, and complex needs, alongside a proven ability to manage high-risk cases, coordinate multi-agency interventions, and contribute to effective risk assessment and safety planning. You will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, recovery-focused approaches, safeguarding, and relevant mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. Experience providing guidance, coaching, or informal supervision to colleagues, students, volunteers, or peer staff is essential. You should demonstrate excellent communication and partnership-building skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local authorities, crisis services, and community organisations in fast-paced environments.

Interview Steps

We keep our interview process simple, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Shortlisting call: We have a team of dedicated recruitment specialists who will speak to you about your experience, motivations and values. They will also tell you about all the great work we do!
  • Face to face interview: Now you will have face to face interview with the hiring manager. Our interviews are value and competency based.

Don't be alarmed if there are other stages in the process, it's all part of the plan for some of our roles.
