Executive Assistant to CEO

Location: London office - Spitalfields.

Salary: £52,585

Contract: Full time, permanent

Working pattern: Hybrid on average 1 day per week in office. (2 days whilst settling in)

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with the a charity to recruit for their next Executive Assistant to the CEO & President.

The charity is a leading international funder supporting frontline activists and organisations advancing human rights in some of the world's most challenging contexts. Since 2002, they have partnered with more than 1,400 organisations across 90+ countries, providing flexible funding and strategic support to build lasting change.

With dual registrations in the UK and US and staff located globally, the charity operates as a single organisation internally while maintaining distinct legal and governance responsibilities externally. This is a high impact Executive Assistant role providing trusted, proactive support to the CEO & President, while also acting as a central pillar of governance and Board coordination across UK and US entities.

You will work at the heart of the organisation, ensuring the CEO's time, priorities and communications are expertly managed, and that Board and Committee cycles are delivered with rigour, accuracy and confidence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high level, proactive support to the CEO, managing a complex international diary
  • Prepare briefings, presentations and correspondence for senior meetings and external engagements
  • Coordinate UK and international travel, logistics and briefing materials
  • Act as a trusted gatekeeper, handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Coordinate Board and Committee cycles across UK and US entities
  • Take accurate minutes and maintain statutory and governance registers
  • Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for the London office and key suppliers

Essential Criteria:

  • Significant experience as a PA or EA to a CEO (not Director level)
  • Proven experience supporting Boards or Trustees, including preparing papers and taking formal minutes
  • Strong, practical knowledge of UK charity governance, including Charity Commission requirements
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders across cultures and time zones
